Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Cement, Cement & Glass and Electronic Parts/Components sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 1.47% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Teapo Electronic Corp (TW:2375), which rose 10.00% or 5.00 points to trade at 55.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Enlight Corp (TW:2438) added 9.99% or 0.90 points to end at 9.91 and King Core Electronics Inc (TW:6155) was up 9.98% or 2.70 points to 29.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carnival Industrial Corp (TW:1417), which fell 4.98% or 0.34 points to trade at 6.49 at the close. I-Chiun Precision Industry Co Ltd (TW:2486) declined 4.48% or 0.60 points to end at 12.80 and Mospec Semiconductor Corp (TW:2434) was down 3.40% or 0.60 points to 17.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 586 to 212 and 117 ended unchanged.
Shares in Teapo Electronic Corp (TW:2375) rose to all time highs; gaining 10.00% or 5.00 to 55.00. Shares in King Core Electronics Inc (TW:6155) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.98% or 2.70 to 29.75.
Crude oil for July delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $65.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.26% or 0.20 to hit $76.59 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.31% or 4.00 to trade at $1295.30 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.06% to 29.802, while TWD/CNY rose 0.14% to 0.2146.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 94.05.
