Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Cement, Cement & Glass and Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.96% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Thunder Tiger (TW:8033), which rose 9.93% or 0.88 points to trade at 9.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Precision (TW:3016) added 9.80% or 2.00 points to end at 22.40 and Anderson (TW:1528) was up 9.57% or 1.00 points to 11.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Htc Corp (TW:2498), which fell 9.95% or 9.80 points to trade at 88.70 at the close. New Palace (TW:8940) declined 9.92% or 1.90 points to end at 17.25 and Tainan Cayman (TW:5906) was down 6.74% or 0.120 points to 1.660.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 496 to 237 and 120 ended unchanged.
Shares in Anderson (TW:1528) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.57% or 1.00 to 11.45. Shares in Tainan Cayman (TW:5906) fell to all time lows; losing 6.74% or 0.120 to 1.660.
Crude oil for July delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $49.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $50.52 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.22% or 2.75 to trade at $1244.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.29% to 32.302, while TWD/CNY rose 0.10% to 0.2039.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 93.96.
