Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Cement, Cement & Glass and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Inotera Memo (TW:3474), which rose 9.89% or 2.35 points to trade at 26.10 at the close. Meanwhile, D-Link Corp (TW:2332) added 9.80% or 1.00 points to end at 11.20 and Sinher (TW:4999) was up 8.46% or 3.55 points to 45.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Crowell (TW:2528), which fell 8.25% or 0.61 points to trade at 6.78 at the close. Chung Hung Ste (TW:2014) declined 4.95% or 0.27 points to end at 5.18 and Mosel (TW:2342) was down 4.71% or 0.120 points to 2.430.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 501 to 235 and 117 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.82% or 0.38 to $46.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.25% or 0.59 to hit $47.78 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.99% or 12.80 to trade at $1285.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.09% to 32.357, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2037.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 94.69.
