Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Auto, Semiconductor and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were A.S.E. (TW:2311), which rose 9.98% or 3.30 points to trade at 36.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Compucase (TW:3032) added 9.93% or 3.45 points to end at 38.20 and Ali (TW:3041) was up 9.91% or 1.70 points to 18.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418), which fell 5.45% or 0.24 points to trade at 4.16 at the close. Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) declined 4.43% or 0.44 points to end at 9.50 and Lu Hai (TW:2115) was down 3.52% or 1.80 points to 49.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 505 to 249 and 96 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.65% or 0.32 to $49.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.73% or 0.36 to hit $49.23 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1220.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.46% to 32.423, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2022.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 95.17.
