Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Cement, Cement & Glass and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Logah (TW:3593), which rose 10.00% or 0.70 points to trade at 7.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Chang Ho (TW:1468) added 10.00% or 1.00 points to end at 11.00 and Pan Intl Ind (TW:2328) was up 9.92% or 2.55 points to 28.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were China Tv (TW:9928), which fell 8.04% or 0.45 points to trade at 5.15 at the close. Solartech Ener (TW:3561) declined 3.12% or 0.50 points to end at 15.55 and Taiwan Paiho (TW:9938) was down 3.11% or 3.50 points to 109.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 622 to 140 and 86 ended unchanged.
Shares in Chang Ho (TW:1468) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 1.00 to 11.00. Shares in Pan Intl Ind (TW:2328) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 9.92% or 2.55 to 28.25.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.86% or 0.82 to $44.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.35% or 0.62 to hit $46.50 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.33% or 4.40 to trade at $1322.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.28% to 31.452, while TWD/CNY fell 0.14% to 0.2119.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 96.14.
