Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Hotels, Plastic and Glass sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Champion Microelectronic Corp (TW:3257), which rose 10.00% or 5.00 points to trade at 55.00 at the close. Meanwhile, New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW:2516) added 9.91% or 1.60 points to end at 17.75 and Chateau International Development Co Ltd (TW:2722) was up 9.89% or 3.05 points to 33.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Taiwan Taffeta Fabric Co Ltd (TW:1454), which fell 7.67% or 1.25 points to trade at 15.05 at the close. Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451) declined 6.89% or 17.50 points to end at 236.50 and Chung Fu Tex-International Corp (TW:1435) was down 5.56% or 2.00 points to 34.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW:2516) rose to all time highs; rising 9.91% or 1.60 to 17.75.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.08% or 0.06 to $77.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.22% or 0.18 to hit $80.61 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.46 to trade at $2,749.16 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.44% to 32.78, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.27% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 108.97.
