Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Textile and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Cyberlink (TW:5203), which rose 10.00% or 5.40 points to trade at 59.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Young Fast (TW:3622) added 10.00% or 0.87 points to end at 9.57 and Shenmao (TW:3305) was up 10.00% or 2.00 points to 22.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Global View (TW:3040), which fell 9.87% or 3.40 points to trade at 31.05 at the close. Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418) declined 9.79% or 0.32 points to end at 2.95 and Hwang Chang (TW:2543) was down 6.61% or 0.55 points to 8.32.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 624 to 220 and 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in Global View (TW:3040) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.87% or 3.40 to 31.05. Shares in Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418) fell to 3-years lows; losing 9.79% or 0.32 to 2.95. Shares in Hwang Chang (TW:2543) fell to 52-week lows; down 6.61% or 0.55 to 8.32.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.75% or 0.29 to $39.60 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.67% or 0.29 to hit $43.50 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.10 to trade at $1137.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.63% to 32.435, while TWD/CNY fell 0.25% to 0.1978.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.31% at 94.20.
