Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Glass, Iron & Steel and Cement & Glass sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.24% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512), which rose 10.00% or 1.00 points to trade at 11.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538) added 9.99% or 0.78 points to end at 8.59 and Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348) was up 9.87% or 2.70 points to 30.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Action Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3024), which fell 5.64% or 0.480 points to trade at 8.030 at the close. Inventec Besta Co Ltd (TW:8201) declined 5.52% or 0.85 points to end at 14.55 and Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) was down 4.61% or 1.00 points to 20.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 627 to 170 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 10.00% or 1.00 to 11.00. Shares in Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.87% or 2.70 to 30.05.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $43.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.07% or 0.03 to hit $45.99 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 3.48 to trade at $1246.98 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.01% to 30.465, while TWD/CNY rose 0.04% to 0.2242.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 97.41.
