Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Auto, Biotech & Medical Care and Trading & Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Coadna (TW:4984), which rose 9.98% or 4.90 points to trade at 54.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Microtek Intl (TW:2305) added 9.89% or 0.63 points to end at 7.00 and Phytohealth (TW:4108) was up 8.99% or 3.10 points to 37.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were L&K Eng (TW:6139), which fell 9.85% or 2.70 points to trade at 24.70 at the close. Unitech Printed Circuit Board (TW:2367) declined 8.74% or 0.90 points to end at 9.40 and Apcb Inc (TW:6108) was down 7.74% or 1.25 points to 14.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 408 to 350 and 88 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.32% or 0.61 to $46.82 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.34% or 0.64 to hit $48.47 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.83% or 10.55 to trade at $1283.25 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.14% to 32.668, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.1995.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 94.58.
