Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Financials and Optoelectronic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165), which rose 9.96% or 3.35 points to trade at 37.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Aurora Corp (TW:2373) added 9.86% or 5.50 points to end at 61.30 and China General (TW:1305) was up 9.83% or 2.55 points to 28.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912), which fell 9.83% or 11.50 points to trade at 105.50 at the close. Kinik (TW:1560) declined 5.66% or 4.40 points to end at 73.40 and Tatung Co Ltd (TW:2371) was down 5.24% or 0.75 points to 13.55.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 390 to 371 and 117 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) rose to 3-years highs; up 9.96% or 3.35 to 37.00. Shares in Aurora Corp (TW:2373) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.86% or 5.50 to 61.30. Shares in China General (TW:1305) rose to all time highs; up 9.83% or 2.55 to 28.50.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.68% or 0.36 to $52.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.59% or 0.33 to hit $55.59 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.35 to trade at $1217.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.03% to 30.866, while TWD/CNY fell 0.09% to 0.2229.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 101.75.
