Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Hotels, Transport and Auto sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538), which rose 10.00% or 0.50 points to trade at 5.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Lida Holdings Ltd (TW:4552) added 9.98% or 5.00 points to end at 55.10 and Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526) was up 9.96% or 2.80 points to 30.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hung Ching Development & Construction Co Ltd (TW:2527), which fell 9.83% or 2.60 points to trade at 23.85 at the close. Asustek Computer Inc (TW:2357) declined 8.77% or 20.00 points to end at 208.00 and Chainqui Construction Development Co Ltd (TW:2509) was down 6.60% or 2.00 points to 28.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 491 to 307 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in Asustek Computer Inc (TW:2357) fell to 5-year lows; falling 8.77% or 20.00 to 208.00.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.56% or 0.31 to $55.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.18% or 0.12 to hit $65.35 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 2.50 to trade at $1203.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.12% to 30.904, while TWD/CNY fell 0.09% to 0.2256.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 96.94.
