Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction, Biotech & Medical Care and Chemical/Bio & Medical care sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were EverFocus Electronics Corp (TW:5484), which rose 10.00% or 7.40 points to trade at 81.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Edimax Technology Co Ltd (TW:3047) added 10.00% or 2.85 points to end at 31.35 and C Sun Manufacturing Ltd (TW:2467) was up 10.00% or 15.50 points to 170.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Abonmax Co Ltd (TW:2429), which fell 17.64% or 6.24 points to trade at 29.16 at the close. Powertech Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3296) declined 9.86% or 3.15 points to end at 28.80 and Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) was down 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.24% or 0.20 to $83.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.35% or 0.30 to hit $86.90 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 1.25 to trade at $2,340.15 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.14% to 32.60, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 105.58.
