Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Construction and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Gamma Optical Co Ltd (TW:3557), which rose 10.00% or 0.490 points to trade at 5.390 at the close. Meanwhile, Ability Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:2374) added 10.00% or 2.30 points to end at 25.30 and Microtek International Inc (TW:2305) was up 10.00% or 0.68 points to 7.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424), which fell 6.41% or 1.85 points to trade at 27.00 at the close. Ching Feng Home Fashions Co Ltd (TW:9935) declined 5.96% or 1.90 points to end at 30.00 and Chaintech Technology Corp (TW:2425) was down 5.12% or 0.95 points to 17.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 435 to 317 and 124 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ability Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:2374) rose to 3-years highs; rising 10.00% or 2.30 to 25.30.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.81% or 0.39 to $47.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $52.03 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.49 to trade at $1301.39 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.06% to 30.126, while TWD/CNY fell 0.09% to 0.2222.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 92.43.
