Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Cement, Cement & Glass and Paper & Pulp sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Gold Circuit Electronics Ltd (TW:2368), which rose 10.00% or 1.30 points to trade at 14.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Ritek Corp (TW:2349) added 8.06% or 0.850 points to end at 11.400 and CSBC Corp Taiwan (TW:2208) was up 7.31% or 2.40 points to 35.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018), which fell 10.00% or 5.60 points to trade at 50.40 at the close. Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) declined 9.98% or 2.20 points to end at 19.85 and Gourmet Master Co Ltd (TW:2723) was down 9.88% or 25.00 points to 228.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 424 to 359 and 136 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gold Circuit Electronics Ltd (TW:2368) rose to 3-years highs; rising 10.00% or 1.30 to 14.30. Shares in Gourmet Master Co Ltd (TW:2723) fell to 52-week lows; falling 9.88% or 25.00 to 228.00.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.11% or 0.07 to $65.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.14% or 0.10 to hit $71.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.40 to trade at $1181.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.05% to 30.776, while TWD/CNY rose 0.18% to 0.2240.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 96.36.
