Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p), which rose 3.11% or 18.20 points to trade at 603.10 at the close. Meanwhile, FSK EES (MCX:FEES) added 2.51% or 0.0044 points to end at 0.1790 and United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) was up 1.81% or 0.425 points to 23.890 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP), which fell 2.27% or 5.35 points to trade at 230.16 at the close. NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) declined 1.89% or 25.00 points to end at 1296.00 and Sberbank Rossii PAO (MCX:SBER) was down 1.65% or 3.95 points to 236.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 120 to 104 and 17 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 1.29% to 24.430.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.01% or 0.15 to $1328.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.53% or 0.28 to hit $53.53 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.56 to trade at $61.84 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.16% to 65.2375, while EUR/RUB fell 0.16% to 73.3474.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 97.127.
