Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which rose 3.68% or 14.50 points to trade at 408.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Yevroplan PAO (MCX:EPLN) added 3.43% or 26.0 points to end at 785.0 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) was up 2.35% or 0.0189 points to 0.8224 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which fell 2.46% or 4500 points to trade at 178500 at the close. AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) declined 2.42% or 0.300 points to end at 12.100 and NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) was down 1.90% or 5.60 points to 289.85.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 126 to 87 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.90% or 5.60 to 289.85.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 5.32% to 17.030.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.40% or 5.20 to $1296.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.13% or 0.08 to hit $59.56 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.16 to trade at $65.83 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.33% to 57.5500, while EUR/RUB rose 0.09% to 68.7475.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 92.31.
