Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Mining, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX), which rose 3.88% or 68.00 points to trade at 1820.00 at the close. Meanwhile, NMTP (MCX:NMTP) added 2.22% or 0.1650 points to end at 7.6100 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) was up 1.74% or 0.205 points to 11.955 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY), which fell 3.16% or 21.30 points to trade at 653.10 at the close. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) declined 2.77% or 2.250 points to end at 78.950 and AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) was down 2.66% or 4750 points to 173500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 124 to 93 and 18 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.74% to 20.240.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.51% or 6.75 to $1328.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.23% or 0.11 to hit $47.12 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.22 to trade at $52.64 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.82% to 57.5282, while EUR/RUB fell 1.07% to 68.3126.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 92.69.
