Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP), which rose 6.95% or 15.23 points to trade at 234.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) added 2.37% or 58.40 points to end at 2520.00 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was up 1.09% or 14.40 points to 1336.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which fell 2.49% or 0.1150 points to trade at 4.5055 at the close. Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) declined 1.99% or 16.00 points to end at 787.00 and RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) was down 1.91% or 0.0111 points to 0.5696.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 117 to 96 and 19 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.65% to 19.740.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.28% or 3.90 to $1418.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $56.05 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $63.41 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.32% to 63.4375, while EUR/RUB rose 0.16% to 70.5451.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 97.787.
