Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were VTB (MCX:VTBR), which rose 1.30% or 0.0006 points to trade at 0.0431 at the close. Meanwhile, NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) added 1.10% or 6.4 points to end at 587.0 and Surgutneftegaz PAO (MCX:SNGS) was up 1.04% or 0.280 points to 27.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY), which fell 3.30% or 27.30 points to trade at 799.70 at the close. PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) declined 2.60% or 65.0 points to end at 2436.0 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) was down 1.84% or 11.90 points to 635.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 138 to 96 and 12 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 3.06% to 19.020 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.07% or 1.05 to $1398.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.29% or 0.17 to hit $57.83 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.14 to trade at $64.25 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.21% to 63.8167, while EUR/RUB rose 0.22% to 71.5250.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 97.097.
