Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Power, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI), which rose 3.89% or 0.0417 points to trade at 1.1136 at the close. Meanwhile, X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) added 3.33% or 71.5 points to end at 2218.0 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) was up 2.74% or 0.298 points to 11.165 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR), which fell 1.81% or 45.0 points to trade at 2440.0 at the close. Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) declined 1.36% or 0.435 points to end at 31.465 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) was down 1.08% or 9.60 points to 880.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 114 to 94 and 20 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.72% to 20.770.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.45 to $1516.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.43% or 0.24 to hit $55.89 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.37 to trade at $60.40 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 1.17% to 65.7688, while EUR/RUB fell 1.13% to 73.0192.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 98.025.
