Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Power, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY), which rose 4.12% or 10.80 points to trade at 273.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA) added 3.28% or 4.60 points to end at 144.75 and ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) was up 3.19% or 41.0 points to 1326.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which fell 3.43% or 5.70 points to trade at 160.30 at the close. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) declined 1.39% or 2.90 points to end at 206.40 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) was down 1.19% or 29.0 points to 2401.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 123 to 90 and 20 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.14% to 20.910.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.12% or 1.54 to $1293.16 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.66% or 1.29 to hit $47.12 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.75% or 0.92 to trade at $51.65 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.33% to 59.2555, while EUR/RUB rose 0.25% to 69.9422.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 93.17.
