Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which rose 8.77% or 1.100 points to trade at 13.645 at the close. Meanwhile, Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) added 3.88% or 7.50 points to end at 200.75 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) was up 3.56% or 3.82 points to 111.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which fell 3.28% or 5.55 points to trade at 163.45 at the close. VTB (MCX:VTBR) declined 2.48% or 0.0015 points to end at 0.0601 and FSK EES (MCX:FEES) was down 1.82% or 0.0032 points to 0.1729.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 123 to 89 and 21 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.89% to 20.290.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.98% or 13.02 to $1343.42 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.07% or 1.45 to hit $48.74 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.06% or 1.08 to trade at $53.42 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.60% to 57.4875, while EUR/RUB fell 0.48% to 68.5000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 92.24.
