Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Software & Computer Services and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.20% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa), which rose 0.46% or 0.130 points to trade at 28.250 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) added 0.38% or 0.20 points to end at 53.10 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 51.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 5.17% or 0.840 points to trade at 15.400 at the close. Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) declined 3.83% or 1.43 points to end at 35.75 and ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) was down 3.16% or 1.17 points to 35.82.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 108 to 19 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.17% or 0.840 to 15.400.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.02% to 17.63.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.12% or 0.69 to $60.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.79% or 0.56 to hit $70.06 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.01% or 12.95 to trade at $1300.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1235, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.8662.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 97.097.
