Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Software & Computer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.95% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR), which rose 0.41% or 0.45 points to trade at 110.80 at the close. Meanwhile, ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) added 0.39% or 0.18 points to end at 45.86 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was up 0.37% or 0.01 points to 3.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which fell 2.63% or 1.54 points to trade at 57.08 at the close. Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) declined 2.45% or 28.00 points to end at 1,116.20 and Prosus (AS:PRX) was down 2.29% or 0.76 points to 32.15.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 74 to 23 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) rose to 52-week highs; up 0.41% or 0.45 to 110.80. Shares in Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) rose to 5-year highs; up 0.37% or 0.01 to 3.76.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.85% or 1.50 to $79.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.53% or 1.30 to hit $83.81 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 2.09% or 51.30 to trade at $2,405.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 104.03.
