Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Software & Computer Services and Construction & Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.95%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 1.39% or 1.240 points to trade at 90.320 at the close. Meanwhile, Heineken (AS:HEIN) added 0.37% or 0.34 points to end at 92.56 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 0.15% or 0.035 points to 23.545 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NN Group NV (AS:NN), which fell 3.36% or 1.31 points to trade at 37.70 at the close. ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) declined 3.11% or 1.20 points to end at 37.44 and Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) was down 3.11% or 0.147 points to 4.587.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 88 to 30 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) rose to 5-year highs; rising 0.15% or 0.035 to 23.545.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.81% to 13.27.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.40% or 0.83 to $60.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.20% or 0.81 to hit $68.42 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.75% or 9.85 to trade at $1316.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.81% to 1.1441, while EUR/GBP rose 0.98% to 0.8636.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 95.225.
