Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Software & Computer Services and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.09% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aalberts Industries (AMS:AALB), which rose 2.60% or 0.70 points to trade at 27.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Randstad (AMS:RAND) added 2.60% or 1.34 points to end at 52.83 and Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) was up 1.97% or 0.19 points to 9.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ahold Kon (AMS:AHLN), which fell 2.15% or 0.40 points to trade at 18.22 at the close. KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) declined 1.63% or 0.054 points to end at 3.253 and Gemalto (AMS:GTO) was down 1.55% or 1.23 points to 78.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 124 to 116 and 5 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.27% to 21.48.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 3.06% or 1.78 to $59.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 3.18% or 2.00 to hit $64.69 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.24% or 2.80 to trade at $1176.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1269, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.7334.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 95.22.
