Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Software & Computer Services, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Construction & Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which rose 3.91% or 0.87 points to trade at 23.11 at the close. Meanwhile, NN Group NV (AS:NN) added 1.90% or 0.71 points to end at 38.05 and Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) was up 1.72% or 0.094 points to 5.556 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA), which fell 2.69% or 1.13 points to trade at 40.90 at the close. Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) declined 1.62% or 0.56 points to end at 33.73 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was down 0.71% or 1.10 points to 153.64.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 73 to 54 and 10 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.61% to 14.22 a new 1-month low.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.51% or 0.93 to $60.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.65% or 1.19 to hit $70.88 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.16% or 2.00 to trade at $1224.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1403, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8702.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 96.20.
