Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Software & Computer Services and Construction & Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which rose 7.91% or 1.51 points to trade at 20.61 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 3.92% or 0.835 points to end at 22.120 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 3.48% or 2.980 points to 88.580 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which fell 1.14% or 0.230 points to trade at 19.890 at the close. Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) declined 0.87% or 0.64 points to end at 72.78 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was down 0.59% or 0.30 points to 50.88.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 86 to 45 and 4 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 12.22% to 21.03 a new 6-months high.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.62% or 0.42 to $67.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.23% or 0.18 to hit $77.44 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.50 to trade at $1231.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1382, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8893.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 96.41.
