Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services, Healthcare and Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 2.72%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO), which rose 2.91% or 0.99 points to trade at 35.02 at the close. Meanwhile, Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) added 0.54% or 0.17 points to end at 31.80 and Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) was up 0.16% or 0.02 points to 12.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES), which fell 6.66% or 17.19 points to trade at 241.01 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) declined 6.62% or 9.87 points to end at 139.16 and Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO) was down 6.53% or 3.71 points to 53.07.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 161 to 82 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 3.43% or 82.00 to $2,308.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.34% or 0.26 to hit $75.29 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.60% or 0.48 to trade at $79.39 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 2.06% to 18.34, while EUR/MXN rose 1.14% to 19.81.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.81% at 104.89.
