Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 2.28% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 0.73% or 0.190 points to trade at 26.290 at the close. Meanwhile, El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) added 0.61% or 0.79 points to end at 130.94 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 0.40% or 0.080 points to 20.140 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which fell 5.10% or 0.750 points to trade at 13.950 at the close. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO) declined 4.62% or 3.41 points to end at 70.47 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was down 4.31% or 17.75 points to 394.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 259 to 36 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.47% or 6.20 to $1320.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.22% or 1.37 to hit $60.42 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $64.28 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.12% to 18.9158, while EUR/MXN rose 0.09% to 23.1658.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 90.19.
