Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services, Consumer Staples and Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 1.50%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which rose 1.47% or 0.220 points to trade at 15.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 0.48% or 0.480 points to end at 101.110 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 0.38% or 0.45 points to 120.37 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which fell 5.74% or 1.935 points to trade at 31.795 at the close. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) declined 3.34% or 2.170 points to end at 62.740 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was down 3.20% or 1.360 points to 41.100.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 181 to 69 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) fell to 3-years lows; losing 5.74% or 1.935 to 31.795.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.57% or 7.40 to $1313.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.79% or 0.54 to hit $68.47 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.37 to trade at $73.73 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.11% to 19.0633, while EUR/MXN rose 0.17% to 22.8533.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 92.27.
