Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 1.28%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA), which rose 2.70% or 0.61 points to trade at 23.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) added 1.55% or 5.22 points to end at 341.08 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) was up 1.22% or 3.71 points to 306.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1), which fell 4.49% or 6.38 points to trade at 135.70 at the close. Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO) declined 4.41% or 0.45 points to end at 9.76 and Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) was down 2.98% or 0.39 points to 12.68.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 192 to 55 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.51% or 35.55 to $2,319.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.57% or 0.45 to hit $78.05 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.37 to trade at $82.23 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.48% to 18.45, while EUR/MXN fell 2.18% to 19.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 104.81.
