Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 1.28%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which rose 2.54% or 0.34 points to trade at 13.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 1.79% or 13.43 points to end at 763.52 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was up 1.49% or 1.740 points to 118.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO), which fell 3.79% or 2.80 points to trade at 71.10 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 3.63% or 0.500 points to end at 13.290 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was down 2.84% or 2.100 points to 71.850.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 153 to 148 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.49% or 1.740 to 118.500.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.11% or 1.30 to $1219.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.37% or 0.25 to hit $66.69 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.29 to trade at $71.99 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.24% to 18.6985, while EUR/MXN rose 0.54% to 21.5604.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 95.44.
