Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services, Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 1.22%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO), which rose 1.34% or 1.250 points to trade at 94.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) added 1.33% or 3.80 points to end at 289.31 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 1.29% or 1.59 points to 125.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which fell 5.15% or 0.525 points to trade at 9.675 at the close. Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) declined 4.74% or 1.170 points to end at 23.500 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) was down 4.54% or 1.160 points to 24.370.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 197 to 68 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.23% or 2.85 to $1249.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.36% or 1.77 to hit $50.84 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.87% or 1.77 to trade at $59.90 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.15% to 20.3002, while EUR/MXN fell 0.20% to 23.0483.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.73% at 97.180.
