Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which rose 1.14% or 0.720 points to trade at 64.100 at the close. Meanwhile, Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) added 0.49% or 0.440 points to end at 89.910 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was up 0.21% or 0.39 points to 185.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (MX:TLVACPO), which fell 2.89% or 2.02 points to trade at 67.88 at the close. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) declined 2.84% or 1.970 points to end at 67.500 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was down 2.65% or 1.440 points to 52.890.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 164 to 127 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.43% or 5.20 to $1206.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.89% or 0.62 to hit $70.13 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.37 to trade at $77.83 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.93% to 19.1283, while EUR/MXN rose 0.60% to 22.3260.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 94.62.
