Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Financial Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 1.02%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 3.13% or 0.500 points to trade at 16.450 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca Cola Femsa SAB De CV (MX:KOFL) added 2.60% or 3.00 points to end at 118.29 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 1.55% or 5.01 points to 327.61 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which fell 3.07% or 4.190 points to trade at 132.190 at the close. Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) declined 2.79% or 1.570 points to end at 54.710 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was down 2.37% or 4.85 points to 199.97.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 159 to 144 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.31% or 15.60 to $1207.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.15% or 0.11 to hit $75.19 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.27 to trade at $84.71 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.43% to 18.7963, while EUR/MXN rose 0.17% to 21.7112.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 95.12.
