Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Healthcare and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 1.00%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO), which rose 3.04% or 1.37 points to trade at 46.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) added 3.02% or 4.92 points to end at 167.21 and Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) was up 1.88% or 6.42 points to 348.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA), which fell 5.00% or 3.06 points to trade at 58.26 at the close. Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA) declined 4.48% or 0.52 points to end at 11.10 and Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) was down 3.88% or 0.90 points to 22.27.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 123 to 102 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.40% or 9.70 to $2,397.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.70% or 0.54 to hit $77.50 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $81.50 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.05% to 18.36, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.01% to 19.90.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 104.08.
