Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which rose 3.36% or 0.760 points to trade at 23.370 at the close. Meanwhile, PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) added 3.07% or 5.55 points to end at 186.62 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 1.91% or 0.370 points to 19.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB), which fell 3.25% or 0.860 points to trade at 25.580 at the close. Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) declined 2.58% or 4.46 points to end at 168.69 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was down 2.32% or 0.310 points to 13.070.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 144 to 134 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.25% or 0.860 to 25.580.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.27% or 3.60 to $1314.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.72% or 1.05 to hit $62.24 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.55% or 1.01 to trade at $66.13 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.06% to 18.6898, while EUR/MXN fell 0.11% to 22.9772.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 90.17.
