Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Telecoms Services and Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 3.08% or 12.31 points to trade at 411.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 2.99% or 2.790 points to end at 96.050 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 2.13% or 0.950 points to 45.560 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1), which fell 2.89% or 3.87 points to trade at 130.15 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 2.83% or 1.820 points to end at 62.580 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) was down 2.28% or 0.610 points to 26.100.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 154 to 146 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.67% or 8.90 to $1320.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.60% or 1.65 to hit $61.74 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.09 to trade at $65.38 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.15% to 18.7699, while EUR/MXN fell 0.18% to 23.0105.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.71% at 90.16.
