Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA), which rose 4.62% or 15.55 points to trade at 352.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) added 2.94% or 1.04 points to end at 36.39 and Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) was up 2.23% or 3.47 points to 159.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO), which fell 5.15% or 1.07 points to trade at 19.72 at the close. Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX) declined 3.75% or 2.14 points to end at 55.00 and Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) was down 2.55% or 0.67 points to 25.63.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 167 to 73 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) fell to all time lows; losing 5.15% or 1.07 to 19.72.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.02% or 27.65 to $2,745.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.12% or 0.88 to hit $77.83 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.87% or 0.71 to trade at $81.32 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.88% to 20.83, while EUR/MXN rose 2.01% to 21.46.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 108.80.
