Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.56% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO), which rose 4.03% or 1.71 points to trade at 44.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Corporacion Inmobiliaria Vesta SAB (BMV:VESTA) added 3.11% or 1.56 points to end at 51.72 and Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA) was up 2.50% or 2.96 points to 121.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA), which fell 4.56% or 0.88 points to trade at 18.42 at the close. Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) declined 2.85% or 0.80 points to end at 27.31 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV:ASURB) was down 2.83% or 15.64 points to 537.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 119 to 116 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.56% or 0.88 to 18.42. Shares in Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) fell to 5-year lows; losing 2.85% or 0.80 to 27.31.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.65% or 18.00 to $2,799.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.81% or 1.89 to hit $69.10 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $72.68 a barrel.
USD/MXN was unchanged 0.02% to 20.15, while EUR/MXN rose 0.05% to 21.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 104.00.
