Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Consumer Staples and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which rose 3.27% or 0.45 points to trade at 14.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) added 3.07% or 3.880 points to end at 130.100 and Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) was up 1.51% or 0.960 points to 64.650 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL), which fell 2.85% or 0.450 points to trade at 15.340 at the close. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 2.63% or 0.890 points to end at 32.970 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was down 2.58% or 0.490 points to 18.500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 183 to 138 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.85% or 0.450 to 15.340.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 2.70 to $1201.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.69% or 1.18 to hit $68.69 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.30% or 1.02 to trade at $77.15 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.26% to 19.3522, while EUR/MXN rose 0.16% to 22.5100.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 95.07.
