Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.45% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were GMexico Transportes SA de CV (MX:GMXT), which rose 2.54% or 0.700 points to trade at 28.240 at the close. Meanwhile, Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) added 2.51% or 1.250 points to end at 50.980 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 1.29% or 0.150 points to 11.820 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which fell 4.31% or 2.280 points to trade at 50.650 at the close. Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALSEA) declined 3.76% or 2.570 points to end at 65.710 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was down 3.09% or 1.890 points to 59.350.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 225 to 110 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.38% or 4.90 to $1298.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.50% or 1.02 to hit $66.86 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.18 to trade at $75.50 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.21% to 19.8315, while EUR/MXN rose 0.43% to 22.8742.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 94.81.
