Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC), which rose 4.58% or 6.88 points to trade at 156.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) added 4.48% or 1.81 points to end at 42.21 and Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA) was up 2.03% or 0.39 points to 19.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA), which fell 5.26% or 2.82 points to trade at 50.82 at the close. Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) declined 4.73% or 6.82 points to end at 137.23 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) was down 4.63% or 7.82 points to 161.02.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 141 to 74 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.26% or 2.82 to 50.82. Shares in Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.73% or 6.82 to 137.23.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.11% or 30.70 to $2,729.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.97% or 0.69 to hit $70.62 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.05 to trade at $75.22 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.05% to 19.83, while EUR/MXN fell 0.04% to 21.39.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 104.27.
