Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financial Services, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q), which rose 4.44% or 8.24 points to trade at 193.97 at the close. Meanwhile, Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA) added 2.29% or 1.43 points to end at 63.83 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:AC) was up 2.25% or 4.00 points to 181.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO), which fell 4.96% or 7.41 points to trade at 141.87 at the close. Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA) declined 1.90% or 2.61 points to end at 134.80 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) was down 1.89% or 0.83 points to 43.02.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 136 to 91 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.02% or 23.65 to $2,336.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.22% or 0.99 to hit $81.89 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.02% or 0.86 to trade at $85.33 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.48% to 18.41, while EUR/MXN rose 0.61% to 19.70.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 105.60.
