Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which rose 2.48% or 2.530 points to trade at 104.540 at the close. Meanwhile, Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) added 2.25% or 0.360 points to end at 16.360 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 2.17% or 8.30 points to 390.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which fell 4.48% or 1.440 points to trade at 30.720 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) declined 2.90% or 0.680 points to end at 22.800 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) was down 2.87% or 0.50 points to 16.94.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 163 to 102 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.87% or 0.50 to 16.94.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.06% or 0.80 to $1257.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.53% or 0.30 to hit $57.34 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.08 to trade at $63.23 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.07% to 19.1167, while EUR/MXN fell 0.31% to 22.4587.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 93.96.
