Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Materials, Financial Services and Telecoms Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which rose 5.41% or 0.980 points to trade at 19.080 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) added 3.46% or 28.43 points to end at 849.38 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was up 2.58% or 1.780 points to 70.660 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB de CV Class B (MX:BSMXB), which fell 1.83% or 0.540 points to trade at 28.930 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 1.73% or 5.61 points to end at 317.80 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was down 1.65% or 2.140 points to 127.920.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 150 to 125 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.05% or 0.60 to $1201.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.34% or 0.23 to hit $67.52 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $77.34 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.02% to 19.2743, while EUR/MXN rose 0.07% to 22.3601.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 95.12.
