Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Healthcare and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which rose 3.93% or 0.820 points to trade at 21.690 at the close. Meanwhile, El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) added 3.29% or 3.86 points to end at 121.32 and Becle SA (MX:CUERVO) was up 2.05% or 0.630 points to 31.340 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which fell 3.06% or 12.07 points to trade at 382.08 at the close. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) declined 2.72% or 0.780 points to end at 27.850 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was down 1.91% or 0.400 points to 20.580.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 152 to 139 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.72% or 0.780 to 27.850.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.54% or 6.70 to $1255.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.01% or 0.57 to hit $57.17 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $63.42 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.08% to 19.1145, while EUR/MXN fell 0.06% to 22.5167.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 93.64.
