Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 2.55% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which rose 9.55% or 1.86 points to trade at 21.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) added 1.96% or 1.210 points to end at 63.050 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was up 0.49% or 0.220 points to 45.050 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO), which fell 9.29% or 10.880 points to trade at 106.180 at the close. America Movil SAB de CV (MX:AMXL) declined 6.93% or 1.260 points to end at 16.930 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was down 5.75% or 1.290 points to 21.130.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 176 to 45 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) fell to 3-years lows; falling 5.75% or 1.290 to 21.130.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.31 to $1278.61 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.46% or 0.24 to hit $52.23 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.21% or 0.12 to trade at $58.45 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.95% to 19.0462, while EUR/MXN fell 0.58% to 22.4892.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 93.58.
