Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Financial Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which rose 1.37% or 0.450 points to trade at 33.390 at the close. Meanwhile, Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 0.51% or 0.110 points to end at 21.980 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was up 0.33% or 0.140 points to 42.490 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which fell 4.15% or 0.420 points to trade at 9.660 at the close. Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) declined 4.11% or 13.080 points to end at 303.710 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) was down 3.33% or 0.930 points to 27.020.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 111 to 56 and 3 ended unchanged.

Gold for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1123.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.62% or 0.27 to hit $43.34 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $50.22 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.10% to 16.2989, while EUR/MXN rose 1.03% to 18.1960.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 96.31.
